Charitable Givings - LBR Charitable Foundation

The Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation (LBRCF) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit corporation formed in 1991 for Rotarians and other interested parties to make tax deductible donations to benefit the Long Beach community.

Donations are used to fund programs meeting all three criteria – local, youth and educational programs. These include Rotary Club projects such as Rotary Centennial Park, Camp Enterprise, Reading by 9 and Rotary Reads, as well as grants to Long Beach area charities and programs that benefit and support youth and education. Recent grants include those made to the Boys and Girls Club, LB Day Nursery, YMCA, Boy Scouts, various programs benefiting the LB Unified School District schools, and the Carpenter Center school program. Disbursements in 2008-2009 exceeded $70,000 with over $970,000 returned to the community in the past 14 years!

Since its inception, the major financing source for the Charitable Foundation has been the generous contribution of Rotary members on their birthdays and through recognitions. Rotary members and other interested persons may also make tax-exempt donations, testamentary gifts or bequests through their trust or will.

Donations can be made payable to: Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation care of: Rotary Club of Long Beach 1119 Queen's Highway, #103 Long Beach, CA 90802.

The Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of Rotarians, including the President, President-Elect and immediate Past-President. The members of the Board welcome the opportunity to discuss the purpose of the Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation, possible gifts and bequests, and youth and education programs and organizations in the Long Beach community that may be considered for grants.
